YALDA Harvard is hosting an Online Conference (webinar) to discuss the effect of foreign aid on development in Africa on  Sunday, February 28th, 2016.
The online webinar will take place on Sunday the 28th of February at 4pm South African time, 5pm Kenya time, 3pm Nigeria time and 9 am US EST time. It will run for only 1.5 hours.

Guest speaker: Ms. Patience Ukama,  Head of Communications at the African Union Foundation and  others

Goals
You do not want to miss out on this thought provoking webinar, as youth from all over the African continent and from around the world seek to address the following pertinent issues that affect our beloved African continent:

  • Identify the current foreign aid status in African nations and the different types of aid in place. Then, we will have a discussion on how the problem of aid manifests itself.
  • Discuss how these forms of aid affect local businesses and inhibit the creation of new ones, as well as the effects aid has on other fields.
  • Engage in a discussion on when aid is needed due to dire crises and when aid has to give way to local sectors after the peak of the crisis.
  • Work on possible solutions directed toward cutting rates of foreign aid dependence and promoting the local sectors.
