BRO. ISAIAH ISAH DURING THE EYF WEEK OF PRAYER

ECWA Trustees, ECWA Executive, ECWA CE Dept, EYF Int'l Leaders, All ECWA Ministers, Int'l Leaders of our Sister Fellowship Groups, Past EYF Leaders, Leaders at all Levels, Parents and the Prestigious Youth of ECWA Around and Across the World.

Preamble:
It gives me pleasure, on behalf of the EYF Int'l Leaders, to welcome you to the 2021 EYF Int'l Week of Prayer in the name of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen. Permit me to use this Scripture as a clarion call: Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Thes. 5:17, 18 & 23).

ECWA Theme for 2021
The 2021 ECWA theme, “Christ in you, the hope of Glory” (Col. 1:27), is apt, and transforming especially in a time when the ship of our country seems to be running towards the edge of a dangerous precipice. The insecurity in our country is characterized by wanton killing, destruction of Government institutions, kidnapping, rape etc, call for intensive prayer, fasting and sober reflection from all of us. We might be going through the hour of the power of darkness - Luke22: 53b. Christ remains our only hope and glory.

Review of 2021
The year 2021 for ECWA Youth Fellowship has been characterized by very few activities due to the effect of the Corona pandemic and paucity of funds. To God’s glory, the following have been completed:

1.    Completion of New EYF Fellowship Guide - The EYF Fellowship Guide has been reviewed and adopted at the 43rd EYF Int'l meeting.

2.    Creation of Four Units - To consolidate the activities of the Fellowship, four units have been created namely:
a. Youth and Drugs
b. ECWA Youth Service Corps
c. Hospitality and
d. Entrepreneurship Units

3.    EYF New Zoning Structure - Following the ten Trustees Zone of ECWA, the EYF has also created more zones, from 5 to 9 zones. The structure is explained in the revised Fellowship Guide.

EYF Int'l Conference
My dear fellow youths, the tough decision to postpone our International conference was necessitated by the insecurity bedeviling our country. This decision was reached after making wide consultations, prayer, and application of common sense. We sympathise with those that put their resources into the planning of the conference especially the hosting zone, i.e. B Zone.

Election
The election will hold in September into three offices. These offices are: Vice Leader, Secretary and Treasurer. Pray for God's wisdom.

EYF Challenges
Insufficient funds and insecurity in our country have become the bane of our Fellowship. We are using this medium to appeal to our Christian Education Officers at all levels to pay more attention to the activities of youth because of their peculiarity. In addition, some DYCs have not settled their accumulated debt over the years and some have stopped remitting their budget and other remittances. This attitude affects the smooth running of the Fellowship.

Condolences
I wish to sympathise with all our members that are sick, distressed or bereaved. Some of our members were kidnapped. Thank God for granting them freedom. Late, Bro. Danladi Ahmadu, former Katarma LYC Leader in Kaduna South DYC was kidnapped and killed! May the good Lord comfort us all in Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you for your individual participation and contribution in making this year's youth week a success.

We pray that God, in His immeasurable and infinite power and grace will strengthen and encourage our LYFs, LYCs and DYCs that are displaced by the insurgency. May God bring an end to all these calamities so that we can once again breathe and enjoy the freedom of worship, movement and association.
