 * NLA Oyo State Chapter pioneered Manifesto Day - Election 2022*

Nigerian Library Association, Oyo State Chapter held Manifesto Day on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in preparation for an electronic election on Monday  17th and Tuesday 18th October 2022. 

The program was held on the Zoom virtual communication platform and attended by over 100 people (Zoom and Facebook): Oyo State members of the Nigeria Library Association, some other professionals, and supporters of the candidates. In attendance is the former President, of the Nigerian Library Association, and the former Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria.  Member of, the IFLA Governing Board, and Chair of IFLA Division, V. Dr. Victoria Okojie, commented that organizing Manifesto Day and e-voting is a great initiative from the NLA Oyo Chapter and worthy of emulation by all chapters and the National NLA.

 

The manifesto day organized by Dr. Ayodele John Alonge led Electoral Committee 2022  was transmitted live on FacebookOther committee members are Dr. Alice Bamigbola, Dr. Ganiyi Adigun, Pastor Agbenu, and Mrs. Oluwatoyin Falana.

The contestants for different positions were given the platform to present their programs, plans, and projects, and members interrogated them extensively.  Adeyeye Sophia Vivian and Bamgbose, Oludayo John for the Chairman position while  Igori-Essien , Mabel Imuentinyan, and Ikenna,  Grace Temilolu are vying for the portion of Vice Chairman, These candidates are unopposed, however, they must get 60% votes for them to be declared winners. Taofeeq Abimbola Oke for General Secretary; Surajudeen Bolanle Jimoh for Financial Secretary;  Margaret for Treasurer Adegbenro; and  John Olugbenga Akinola for  Public Relations Officer
