Farewell to our Dear Pastor and his Family (August 1,2017- July 31 2022)

May 25 , 1997 the English section of ECWA Church Ode Oolo moved to No 25 Oshuntokun Avenue, Bodija Ibadan. That maked the birth of ECWA Chapel Ibadan 25 years ago. one of the elders, Dr J.F Olawuyi was appointed by Southern DCC as the pioneer pastor. 

From that time, May 25, 1997 till today ECWA chapel has been shepherded by 7 great men of God to the Gloryof God

1) Pastor Dr J. F. Olawuyi: 1997-2001 (Gone to rest) 

2) Rev. Prof. S. O. Abogunrin: 2001- July 2003 (Gone to rest)

3) Rev. A. O. Farinto: 1 August-31 December 2003

Rev. J. O. Ejembi: 1" January 2004-8 January 2008 (Gone to rest)

Note: Rev. Prof. S. O. Abogunrin: 9th Jan 2008-31 July,2008

Rev. E. O. Ogundiya: 1" August 2008-31" July 2012

Rev. S.O. Oshoaro: 1" August 2012-31" July 201

 Rev. S. A. O. Onootu: 1" August 2017-31" July 2022.

Today is not historical service of ECWA Chapel, Ibadan

We are gathered today as We bid our dear pastor, Rev Samuel Onootu, his dear wife, Mrs Elizabeth Onootu, and their beautiful children, Blessing, Sarah, Victory,and Christian. 

We wondered that  I didn't I mention Grace, The first seed of Rev Onootu. It is deliberate 

For Rev onootu so that love the Chapel that he generously grace us his first Seed, Grace Onootu now Grace Oluwagbemi.  

Who remains with us as he moves to the next level of his ministry and pastoral career to serve in his new post, at ECWA chapel, Osogbo. 

On behalf of the Board of elders and the entire members of ECWA Chapel, Ibadan, who I'm representing to give this farewell speech, we sincerely appreciate you, and we love you dearly.

We are going to miss our pastor Rev. Samuel Audu Onootu, his wife Mrs Onootu and the children. 

Rev' d S.A. Onootu is a prayer warrior, an Excellent Bible teacher and a great preacher. Very caring and community-oriented. 

Rev' Onootu, who was born on Thursday 6th June, 1968 in at Ihimi Local Government of Kogi State and joined Ibadan District Church Council in November 2002 served the Lord tirelessly , faithfully and with great companion for his Flock here at ECWA Chapel Ibadan, Ibadan 

Rev' Onootu with the support of Board Elders (2016-2019 set)and (2019 -2024) successfully achieved the following projects and activities since his resumption at this church on August 1, 2017. 

1) Borehole

 2) Media Cubicle

 3) Changing of doors and windows of the Auditorium (up and down)

 4) Painting of the Auditorium (up and down)

 5) Changing of Pastorium doors

 6) New Drum Set 

 7) New Generator

 8) Water Dispensers for Children Department

 9) Phone and Mifi for Media Department

 10) Mobile Public Address System 

 11) Works on the Media Department and PAS (New Microphones etc.)

 12) Purchase of one TV (Flat screen for the Media) 

 13) Wall papers for the Altar background

 14) Security Uniforms

 15) Creation of more parking space 

 16) Fortification of Complex pillars

 17) Repair and painting of church gate

 18) Repair of Church Signposts

 19) Purchase of Notice Boards  

 20) Accommodation of Corp members

 21) Welfare Boxes Contine somices

 22) Family Retreat (outdoor) in place of Couples Weekend (indoors)

 23) Hybrid Church Service 

 24) 17 Marriages Conducted

I will end this farewell message with Numbers 6:24–26 NKJV

"The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace." —
