APHRC & CEGA Call for Applications: Short Course on Implementation Research Methodology and Applications________
Date: October 3 - 7, 2022
Venue: Kigali, Rwanda
Implementation science is an upcoming field of study that focuses on using rigorous socio-economic methods (e.g., impact evaluation and quasi-experimental designs) to promote the adoption and integration of evidence-based practices, interventions, and policies into public health. Given East Africa’s heavy infectious disease burden, the APHRC is partnering with CEGA at the University of California, Berkeley, to develop a network of independent, health-focused researchers in East Africa equipped to investigate the socioeconomic dimensions of infectious disease treatment and prevention through implementation research and impact evaluation. This 5-day in-person training on Implementation Research Methodology and Applications will explore these methods for early career social scientists and public health specialists in East Africa.
Objective:
- To equip participants with knowledge and skills on the use of implementation research as a tool for infectious disease treatment and prevention, and to broaden its impact by creating a network of active researchers in East Africa.

- Citizen of East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda)
- Doctoral/postdoctoral researcher or early career faculty
