Academic Libraries set to Re-Model Library & Information Literacy Programs

The Training Conference on "Library and Information Literacy in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria" organised by the University of Lagos in collaboration with U.S. 
Consulate General, Lagos the conference held online on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9, 2021.

The workshop which was delivered in form of Presentations, hand-on on and Discussion focused on the following:

1) Re Modeling of LHLPs in Higher Educational Institutions in Nigeria: Practical Options for Information Professionals (Samuel Eyitayo, U.S. Consulate General)

2) Teaching Techniques - Online Research & Plagiarism Check skills (Dr. Ayo Alonge, University of Ibadan) 

3) Keeping ab on the current educational tools to improve teaching and leaming (Samuel Evitayo, U.S. Consulate General)

4) MOOCs application to teaching and leaming (Samuel Evitayo, U.S. Consulate General) 

5) Teaching Techniques - Best Use of Google Scholar and Online databases (Dr. Christopher Olaki, UNILAG Library).

6) Sourcing for Resources for training on Life and Leadership Skills Dr. Jide Oke, Knowledgefortress Consulting Ltd)

7) State of Library and Information Literacy Programs (LILPs) in Academic Institutions in Nigeria (Dr Mrs. Yetunde Zaid UNILAG Library

8) Social Media and other Tools for promoting Library and Information Services (Dr. Nike Alabi, UNILAG Library

9) Train the Trainers: Planning a Successful Library & Information Literacy Class, and Tools for implementing it. (Bryan Fuller, Morgan State University)
Participants of the 2 day programme were draw from a all level of academic libraries in Nigeria. - Universities , Polytechnics, colleges of education, theological seminary etc.
